Cuz after all these years (entry no.28)

It's almost 1 am, I don't feel like going to bed and to be honest I don't really feel like writing an entry but here I am anyways. I worked an 8 hour shift today, chilled for a little bit when I got home and then proceeded to pass out on the couch for nearly 3 hours. I was exhausted, I didn't sleep too well last night and got up early for work after an extremely busy weekend. Not the greatest combination but I digress. Anyways, since I don't really have anything I want to talk about in particular, I guess this will be another music entry. This one will be dedicated to Camila Cabello.

I've been listening to her since her first album as a soloist. Needless to say I have seen her grow and change so much throughout the years. I know nobody asked, but I wanna talk about one of my favorite songs from her. My number 1 song will ALWAYS be "All These Years", it was literally love at first listen. Ever since I found it over 5 years ago it has always been one of my top songs when Spotify releases their wrapped at the end of the year. The only thing that breaks my heart is the fact that the song is a little high for me so it's kinda awkward to singalong to. Rumor has it, she wrote that song about Shawn Mendes before they started dating, making me love it even more.

I used to be a HUGE Shawn Mendes fan in my early teens, him and Camila Cabello were always two of my top artists. Thus you can imagine my elation when I discovered that they had started dating back in 2019. However, the two albums they released respectively while they were together did not live up to my expectations in that moment. But now that I've taken the time to revisit them, I've come to the conclusion that they are actually pretty good. Two of my favorites from Shawn Mendes' Wonder album are "Song For No One" and "Always Been You", both of which are obviously written for Camila Cabello.

Meanwhile, I can't get enough of "Celia" and "Boys Don't Cry" from her Familia Album. Both artists have such different styles and personalities, you can tell that she is far more extroverted than he is. As an introvert, I must admit that extroverts can be scary at times. However, you need to give them each a chance before forming an opinion about them. I used to run from extroverts, their bubbliness gave me anxiety but now it gives me motivation to be a more friendly and open person. Extroverts can drag you out of your comfort zone, something that we all need to do every now and then regardless of how uncomfortable it makes us. I love my extroverted friends, they remind me that it's ok to let my guard down and dance like nobody is watching.

You're still here? Meet me at entry no.29 :)
