I fall for pretty home and away kits (entry no.25)
Ayeooo, she's back only 4 days later, please hold your applause until the entry is finished. I'm currently a multi-tasking queen, typing away as I watch England vs Serbia, both team's first match in this year's Euro Cup. So far so good, we're winning one nothing and Southgate created a killer starting line-up not gonna lie. We got Kane, Foden, and Saka up front and Rice, Bellingham, and Trent in midfield... need I say more. Now that I'm writing, I realize that I haven't once mentioned what I thought about the team's new jerseys. I think they are cool, very classic looking but not as cool as the ones they wore during the 2022 World Cup. I loved both of those home and away kits. The bright red away colors and the white and bright blue home jerseys were perfection.
However, Germany's home and away kits this year were my absolute favorites. The white home jerseys with hints of red, yellow, and black look so beautiful, almost like the players are on fire. They contrast perfectly with their away jerseys which are purple and pink, a bold choice that has 100% paid off. I really like bright and unique jerseys but there is definitely a fine line between unique, and obnoxious. Arsenal's away kit last year was definitely obnoxious, it was a neon green with black squiggles. Many called it the "tropical fish kit" and while it was ugly, we all had to admit that the Gunners played phenomenally well in those jerseys. I can't wait for the season to start up again! But for now I must stay content with Euro's and Copa America which starts this Thursday.
I feel like there is so much more I want to talk about but at the moment I don't really feel like sharing. Well, I guess I can talk about my first shift as a self-checkout attendant. It went well! It was super easy, so much easier than when I first became a cashier. I was basically baby-sitting machines for six hours while people watching. Of course, some customers needed assistance every now and then but it was all super straight-forward. My next shift as an attendant is Tuesday morning, but since mornings are super slow I don't doubt that it'll go well. In fact I don't doubt that life in general will go well, it always does when you have your priorities straight.
There's this one line from the Broadway musical Hamilton that I keep playing over and over and over again in my head "If you stand for nothing, then what do you fall for?" I stand for honesty, courage, and kindness. I wield these qualities like a sword. It's like I mentioned in a previous entry, return evil for evil to no one, even to those who kinda deserve it. By doing so, you show that you are better, that you are stronger, people only have power over you if you let them. Don't give people that satisfaction, if they treat you like a fool, don't act a fool. Sometimes it's hard in the heat of emotions but kindness and honesty win every single time. Kindness and honesty have the power to punch someone in the gut just as effectively as a fist. Plus you'll look pretty doing it. ;)
