It's Actually Good I Promise (entry no.2)

At the moment I am currently "listening" to an online lecture about database management (yes it is as boring as it sounds). What makes the class even more insufferable is that I have it every week at 8:00 am. I'm normally up before that but it's still pain to have to attend and use my brain.

Before I joined the lecture I was listening to Taylor Swift and I instantly know that you're thinking one of two things "OMG I LOVE HER" or "Seriously, why is she everywhere she's so overhyped". I personally fall in the in between category, I think she's a good person but I wouldn't consider her as one of my favorite artists. But while I wouldn't say I love her, I gotta admit I love her lyricism. She's a phenomenal songwriter and captures love and heartbreak so beautifully with a few simple words. A great example is "All Too Well" there's one line that goes "And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to" which get's me every time. Another one of my favorites is the haunting yet powerful bridge in "Clean" which says "Ten months sober, I must admit, Just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it, Ten months older, I won't give in, Now that I'm clean, I'm never gonna risk it"

It's unfortunate that the only songs most people hear from her are her upbeat pop songs like "Shake it off" and "Anti-Hero". Not gonna lie I loathe both of those songs. I understand that they have nice messages too but I can't stand them. However, I recognize that there are some exceptions like "Cruel Summer". I must begrudgingly admit there is nothing quite like screaming that bridge at the top of your lungs in the car.

I dance precariously on the fine line of to Swift or not to Swift while jamming out to "London Boy" and "Call it what you want". But you will not catch me fighting to the death for Taylor Swift's honor. I enjoy popping my head in every now and then to see what's up but Taylor Swift fans low-key terrify me.

I didn't even realize but my online lecture is now over which means it is unfortunately now homework time. Thanks for listening to me as I stand on my soapbox on this little corner of the internet. Until next time!

You're still here? Meet me at entry no.3 :)
