A Curly-Headed Coca-Cola Enthusiast (entry no.32)
I'm watching the Olympics with my dad in the living room as I write this entry. We're currently watching a women's basketball game, it's Canada vs France and Canada is currently being obliterated. I've never really been into the Olympics but I'll watch a couple of the events here and there. Personally, I have always preferred the winter Olympics, specifically figure skating. I grew up watching Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir dominate in Ice Dancing from 2010 to 2018 at the Olympics. I'll never forget their beautiful dance to Stay by Rihanna, the chemistry between those two skaters is unmatched. I was so convinced that I was going to skate exactly like them when I was little. 10 year old Abby would be thoroughly disappointed in me if she found out that we grew up to become someone who can neither skate nor dance. It's funny when you think about it, I love music but I can't dance and I love the winter but can't play any of the sports associated with it.
One of the only sports I actually enjoy playing is tennis. I got really into it last year with a couple of friends of mine, I love how it's fast paced and tactical. There's nothing quite like striking the ball in the back corner of your opponent's side of the court. After we finished playing we'd always get slushies to end the occasion. My favorite slushy flavor will always be Coca-Cola, that's probably because Coca-Cola in general will always be my favorite. My sister makes fun of my obsession but I blame it on the latina in me. However, despite my Coca-Cola obsession I am not a Pepsi hater. Pepsi is alright, if you hand one to me I'll drink it but it doesn't hit the spot the way a Coca-Cola does. My absolute favorite way to drink a Coca-Cola is in a glass with lots of ice and a metal straw. Now that hits the spot every single time.
Last year I got my wisdom teeth removed and my mouth was so swollen and sore I couldn't eat a thing. I spent days rotting on the couch having nothing but glasses and glasses of ice cold Coca-Cola. I'm genuinely surprised my teeth didn't rot or fall out from all of the sugar. Mouth and stomach pain is so much worse than head and back pain, I get so sad and grumpy when I can't properly enjoy food. Speaking of food, my mom barbequed yesterday and it was soooooooo good. We ate it outside in our backyard with some friends, it was a perfect sunny weekend. What made it even more perfect was the fact that it wasn't humid, me and my hair were definitely grateful for that. I have wavy hair so it is prone to frizzing up and it is a lot of work to maintain my curls.
The results are worth it tho! Every wash day I spend an hour finger coiling it while watching TV. It's therapeutic but also very time consuming, most of the things I do have these characteristics. This is especially true when it comes to art. I have phases when I'm drawing and crafting all the time and then I spend months without touching a pencil. The same thing seems to be happening with my entries lately. I went from posting one every two days to posting one every week. But despite this the views on my entries remain consistent. So much so that I now even have a page dedicated to all my posts so you can reread your favorite entries or catch up on ones that you may have missed. It's been such a fun ride and I'm excited to see what subjects await in future entries. As always, thanks for sticking around.
You’re still here? Meet me at entry no.33 :)
